PetAdmin uses the WinHlp32 system which is not rolled out by default on some versions of Windows Vista (See the Microsoft article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/917607 for further information). For Vista users affected by this, the WinHlp32 system can be downloaded and installed by following this link :- http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=82148

We use the old WinHlp32 system to remain compatible with Windows 95, 98 and ME.

Backup fails in Windows Vista creating temporary file C:\pa_orig.mdb
This is due to Vista security restrictions not permitting the creation of stand-alone files in the root of the c: drive

Manually copy the PetAdmin database file to your backup location. The database file is called padb2000.mdb and is normally located in c:\program files\petadmin\data folder.
Overflow error when attempting to Check-In or Check-Out and animal from the Check-In and Check-Out lists. This occurs only when 32566 bookings or more are on the PetAdmin database.

Error 'Cannot remove last non fixed row' in Run Allocation (and booking wizard when adding a booking) screen when selecting option to display Empty runs and no empty runs to display.

PetAdmin remembers the Display option setting in Run Allocation and may bomb next time you try to add a booking. By closing and re-starting PetAdmin the option will be set back to Display All Runs and the problem will not occur. Do Not select 'Empty' Runs if there are none to display.
